Home » General NewsYMS Cross Country - Outstanding at SectionalsOctober 9, 2012 By Suzanne Galmarini of Yorkville Middle SchoolThis past Saturday the cross country team participated in the IESA Sectional to attempt to qualify for State. Led by strong performances by Alexis Grandys for the girls and Alexx Nauman for the boys both teams took home the first Sectional championships in YMS cross country history. Alexis Grandys became the first individual Sectional champion for YMS cross country with her time of 11:53. Maggie Klemm and Dominque Anderson also earned All-Sectional honors. The girls won their Sectional by 50 points. Alexx Nauman finished second in the boys race with a time of 11:16. Darien Ramos, Dawson Diederich, and Zack Price also earned All-Sectional honors for top 10 finishes. The boys won their Sectional race by 48 points. Both teams will race at the IESA Cross Country Championships this Saturday at Maxwell Park in Bloomington/Normal. Good luck, Foxes!
