ATL Midnight Express 14 year old standout Jaylen Clement

December 6, 2013
By Jerry Clement of YBOA

Jaylen Clement has exemplified great leadership on the AAU circuit though the years and transferred his legacy to the High School Basketball Circuit.  A swingman for The Stockbridge High School Freshman Basketball Team, Jaylen has been the leader in points and assists so far this season.  On Saturday, November 23rd, Jaylen won the Henry County All-Tournament Award by amassing 15 points and 8 assists in a thriller against Newton County High School.  Leading his team to a 5 and 1 record, Jaylen has made a name for himself in the county as being an all-around player and perrenial scorer.  As the co-captain of the team, Jaylen is always looking to pass to his teammates before shooting the ball himself.  For example, during a game against Henry County High School where Stockbridge High School was clearly dominating, Jaylen insisted to pass to his teammates first instead of shooting the ball himself so they can get some baskets and get into the scoring column.  He thrives on challenges against larger and more skillful teams which is exemplified with his 25.7 point 9 assist and 6 rebound average per game for the ATL Midnight Express 8th grade team last season.  Moreover Jaylen has averaged double figures in the fall Varsity Basketball League at Clayton State for the ATL Midnight Express alongside being the hero by scoring 10 points in 24 seconds  to propel his Varsity Team to a comeback victory to the Sweet16 game in the Prime Time National Championships in Dallas, Texas.  Look out for Jaylen in the next several months on the high school circuit!!!
