This was a big game for the Rebels because it was the first conference game of the year and it was at home against their rivals from Elmwood Park. Elmwood Park took control of the game in the first half with hitting big shots and making it difficult for the Rebels to score. The Rebels settled for jump shots and didn't shoot a free throw in the first half. Elmwood Park led 19-12 at the half. In the second half the Rebels turned up the heat defensively and got themselves back into the game. The Rebels also shot better and outscored Elmwood Park 26-24 in the second half. The Rebels had a rough afternoon shooting the basketball and in the end it came back to bite them. The whole game was closely played with neither team able to pull away. The first quarter ended with the Rebels up 8-7. Lake Forest Academy put together a strong second quarter outscoring the Rebels 13-9 and leading at the half 20-17. The third quarter was a defensive struggle with the Rebels holding Lake Forest Academy to 4 points but only scoring 7 points of their own and both teams tied at 24 to end the quarter. The fourth quarter saw Lake Forest Academy outscore the Rebels 14-11 by hitting big free throws and creating second chance scoring to win. For the game the Rebels shot 4-13 from the free throw line and missed alot of inside scoring chances.

The Rebels had a rough night scoring on the offensive end. We had plenty of opportunities but it was just one of those nights where the ball refused to go through the net. The first quarter saw the Rebels get down 11-5 and by halftime it was 25-12. Defensively the Rebels played pretty well creating some turnovers and forcing the opposition into some tough shots. The third quarter started out very well with the Rebels closing the gap to 25-17, but they could not get any closer. In the end being outscored in the second half 29-9, the Rebels competed hard but had to fight to many obstacles to get a win.

Jackie Stroud 21 pts
The Rebels started quickly with Ines Grepo scoring 6 straight points to begin the game and after a back and forth 1st quarter the Rebels led 11-10. In the 2nd quarter both teams struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end. The Rebels missed a couple of easy opportunities to enlarge the lead, but thanks to the defensive intensity the lead remained. The Rebels led 19-18 at the half. The third quarter was again a struggle on the offensive end for both teams, with missed opportunities and turnovers, but after 3 quarters the Rebels led 26-24. In the fourth quarter Jackie Stroud came through in the clutch scoring 11 of her 21 total points. The Rebels outscored Morton 18-10 in the fourth quarter, hitting free throws and limiting Morton's scoring chances.

We came out very flat and trailed 10-0 halfway through the first quarter. We seemed to get our legs underneath us and trailed 17-12 after one. The second quarter we picked up our defensive intensity and started creating turnovers and converting them into easy baskets. We outscored Maine East 18-8 in the quarter and led 30-25 at the half. Jackie Stroud scored 14 second quarter points. The second half we struggled to score and were out scored 29-10. We were 10/26 (39%) from the free throw line for the game. We had a lot of turnovers and we gave up too many second chance points.
