The Rebels came out strong getting out to a 6-2 lead but then over the next 6 minutes were outscored 11-4 because of turnovers and missed opportunities on the offensive end, to trail 13-10 after the 1st quarter. The second quarter was pretty much the same, both teams trading baskets and causing turnovers with their defensive pressure. The Rebels trailed 29-24 at the half. The Rebels came out the second half very determined to take control of the game outscoring the Bulldogs 17-13 and trailing 42-41 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Rebels took control of the game causing turnovers, limiting second chance point opportunities and making shots in the 4th quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 19-9 and giving Riverside Brookfield their first loss of the season.

This was a big game for the Rebels because it was the first conference game of the year and it was at home against their rivals from Elmwood Park. Elmwood Park took control of the game in the first half with hitting big shots and making it difficult for the Rebels to score. The Rebels settled for jump shots and didn't shoot a free throw in the first half. Elmwood Park led 19-12 at the half. In the second half the Rebels turned up the heat defensively and got themselves back into the game. The Rebels also shot better and outscored Elmwood Park 26-24 in the second half. With a minute and a half left in the game the Rebels had cut the lead to 3 points, but could not hit a couple of 3 point shots to tie the game. Elmwood Park hit two free throws and put the game awa November 29, 2011 - The JV Lady Rebels won 34-20 against Elmwood Park High School and the Varsity Lady Rebels lost 38-43 to Elmwood Park High School. Maybellin Bonilla & Sylvia Loch November 19, 2011 Mallory McCormack 16 pts The Rebels had a rough afternoon shooting the basketball and in the end it came back to bite them. The whole game was closely played with neither team able to pull away. The first quarter ended with the Rebels up 8-7. Lake Forest Academy put together a strong second quarter outscoring the Rebels 13-9 and leading at the half 20-17. The third quarter was a defensive struggle with the Rebels holding Lake Forest Academy to 4 points but only scoring 7 points of their own and both teams tied at 24 to end the quarter. The fourth quarter saw Lake Forest Academy outscore the Rebels 14-11 by hitting big free throws and creating second chance scoring to win. For the game the Rebels shot 4-13 from the free throw line and missed alot of inside scoring chances. November 17, 2011 - Varsity Lady Rebels lost to the Vernon Hills Cougars 54 to 19. Kevin Soltwedel November 17, 2011 Mallory McCormack 9 pts The Rebels had a rough night scoring on the offensive end. We had plenty of opportunities but it was just one of those nights where the ball refused to go through the net. The first quarter saw the Rebels get down 11-5 and by halftime it was 25-12. Defensively the Rebels played pretty well creating some turnovers and forcing the opposition into some tough shots. The third quarter started out very well with the Rebels closing the gap to 25-17, but they could not get any closer. In the end being outscored in the second half 29-9, the Rebels competed hard but had to fight to many obstacles to get a win. November 15, 2011 Jackie Stroud 21 pts The Rebels started quickly with Ines Grepo scoring 6 straight points to begin the game and after a back and forth 1st quarter the Rebels led 11-10. In the 2nd quarter both teams struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end. The Rebels missed a couple of easy opportunities to enlarge the lead, but thanks to the defensive intensity the lead remained. The Rebels led 19-18 at the half. The third quarter was again a struggle on the offensive end for both teams, with missed opportunities and turnovers, but after 3 quarters the Rebels led 26-24. In the fourth quarter Jackie Stroud came through in the clutch scoring 11 of her 21 total points. The Rebels outscored Morton 18-10 in the fourth quarter, hitting free throws and limiting Morton's scoring chances. November 15, 2011 - Junior Varsity Lady Rebels lost 27 to 41 to the Lady Mustangs of Morton. Marcin Czop November 14, 2011 Jackie Stroud 25 pts We came out very flat and trailed 10-0 halfway through the first quarter. We seemed to get our legs underneath us and trailed 17-12 after one. The second quarter we picked up our defensive intensity and started creating turnovers and converting them into easy baskets. We outscored Maine East 18-8 in the quarter and led 30-25 at the half. Jackie Stroud scored 14 second quarter points. The second half we struggled to score and were out scored 29-10. We were 10/26 (39%) from the free throw line for the game. We had a lot of turnovers and we gave up too many second chance points.
