Help Japan and Get a Message on WRHS
March 23, 2011By Kevin Szaflik of WRHS Radio/Television
Twitter turned five years old on Monday, March 21, 2011. But have you ever heard of a tweet on the radio? To help with the relief efforts in Japan after the earthquake, tsunami, nuclear incident and volcano erupting with lightning, WRHS asks listeners to make a donation to support disaster relief efforts through the American Red Cross. They can go ridgenet.org and click on "Help Japan and Get a Message on WRHS."
As a special thank you, for each $5 donation, 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge will read your tweet or short e-mail over 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge.
For donations, people can go to www.redcross.org and click on "donate now." They can text "REDCROSS" to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross
After listeners make their donations, they can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or post their message on 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge on Facebook or Twitter with the message you would like us to read on the air on 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge. Messages must meet FCC and community standards. WRHS reserves the right to refuse to air a message. Certain restrictions apply.
As a thank you for donating, WRHS is giving away Shirock "Everything Burns" posters and color business cards with a QR for a free download of the "New Solution" dance remix. While supplies last.
