Junior forward Tierra Wise finished with career highs of 18 points and 16 rebounds as Woodward reached its greatest single-season win total since 2008 with a 40-36 win against Shroder Tuesday at Woodward. Wise had already achieved her season high with 10 points in the first half, but the Bulldogs were unable to pull away until senior guard Preosha Ewing scored all five of her points during a 13-2, third-quarter run that put Woodward ahead, 31-22. A put-back by junior forward Dyshia Smith capped a 6-0 run that pulled the Jaguars to within four points, 40-36, but neither team was able to score in the final 2:30. Junior guard Kierra Pearson added 10 points and four assists for the Bulldogs, while senior forward Kyrie Watkins added 19 rebounds, one short of her season high, and seven steals. Sophomore center DeAnna Johnson led Shroder with nine points and seven rebounds, with sophomore guard Kendriana Jones and Smith added eight points each. The last time Woodward won more than eight games in a season was in 2008, when the Bulldogs won the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference with a 17-4 overall mark.
