Home » Boys' Basketball NewsWoodford rolls past 21-7 Montgomery County!February 15, 2012 By Marcus Walling of woodfordathletics.com - Woodford County High SchoolThe Jackets faced off last night against a Montgomery County team that has just had a great season. Woodford trailed by 3 at the half and then went on a huge run mixed with some great 3 point shooting and much help from Sophomore Guard Eli Boggess. The Jackets pull out the win 63-50 dropping the Indians to 21-8 and the Jackets rise to 19-10. The stats leaders for the jackets were Eli Boggess, 16 points 1 stealing a total of 4 three pointers, also David Greenwell with 15 points, 5 rebounds. For the Indians, Omar Prewitt, 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist; and Jake Handshoe, 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. The Jackets outnumbered Montgomery County in just about every category and more than doubled them in points off of 3 pointers 30-12. With a tough game coming up at Collins Friday, the jackets need to keep up their sharp play and excellent shooting because the 41st District Tournament is right around the corner, and a good Western Hills team awaits them. Make sure you attend the District tournament Wednesday, Feburary 22nd at the Frankfort Civic Center or check it out online at prepspin.com
