Wisconsin Track Coaches Association

A message from Paul;

 I have been lucky enough to be nominated for this award by past athletes and coaches - thought it would be nice if the WISTCA could forward this to the members (I am the only one from Wisconsin)  they can vote between now and Sept. 2nd to help get our program some more funds/equipment - never hurts to try - you/they can go to brooksrunning.com and log on to the facebook site to see all of the nominees.

The letter Paul received from Brooks Running.

Hi Paul,
Congratulations! You have been chosen as one of Brooks 2012 Inspiring Coaches finalists. Our goal with the Inspiring Coaches is to honor inspirational track/XC coaches who not only support their teams with time, encouragement, and dedication, but go above and beyond to build and keep their programs strong, make a lasting difference in the lives of their athletes, and inspire not only their own athletes, but others in their communities to run and be active. Want to learn more about the program, check out the attached press release.
In February we began accepting applications for the second year of the Brooks Inspiring Coaches program from athletes, parents, fellow coaches, and anyone in the community who knew a great coach. We encouraged them to share their stories of how their coaches inspire them. And because of the great stories shared about you, you were chosen from over 1300 applications from across the country as one of our top 25 finalists. As a finalist you will receive:
·         $5,000 in Brooks running shoes, apparel, and accessories for your team.
·         $500 cash for team expenses (paid to the school athletic department or booster club).
·         Membership in the Brooks Inspire Daily (I.D.) program for 2011 (Additional information on the Brooks ID program will follow in the coming weeks, but click here for a brief overview.)
We also want to help share the stories of your running program with others in the running community. So on July 24, we will be announcing all of our top 25 finalists to the public on our Facebook page, BrooksRunning.com and with a press release. In order to share your coaching stories, why others feel you are inspiring and a little bit more about you, we need to get some additional information from you. Attached is a Q&A that allows us to get to know you better, as well as a release form that gives us permission to post your stories online. We also ask that you send us a few pictures. We would love to get a head shot, as well as 2-3 pictures of you coaching your team. If you are wondering how we will use the information, check out our profiles of last year’s finalists here. We need to get all images, the release form and Q&A back from you by next Tuesday, July 17.
From our 25 finalists, we will be choosing one to become our 2012 Inspiring Coach of the Year. Our Inspiring Coach of the Year will be chosen after we share all of our top 25 stories with our Facebook fans, Brooks employees and others in the running community. We will announce our most inspiring coach this fall, but this coach will receive an additional:
·         $5,000 in Brooks running shoes, apparel, and accessories for your team.
·         $2000 cash for team expenses (paid to the school athletic department or booster club),
·         A trip for two to the 2013 Brooks PR Invitational.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Once again congratulations and thanks from all of us at Brooks for inspiring high school runners!
