Trojans Take Down Waconia
December 11, 2013Waconia Girls Basketball MN
The Wildcats were never able to get on track during their game at New Prague on Tuesday night and they fell 84-68. With the exception of the first 2 minutes, New Prague led the entire contest. Waconia was able to cut the lead to 6 late in the first half, but that was as close as they would come.
While Waconia was able to get on track with their three point shooting (11 for 32) it was layups that were the most elusive shot. The team shot only 38% on shots in the paint. The Trojans also trounced Waconia on the boards collecting 49 rebounds compared to 38 for the Cats.
Anna Schmitt again led the scoring with 17 points. She also grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Miranda Schultz was the only other player to score in double figures. Kaylee Vanderhoff had 10 rebounds and blocked 5 shots.
The JV Cats could not keep up with New Prague and dropped a 69-41 contest. Tatum Johnson led the scoring with 12 points.
It was a rough night for the 9th grade Cats as well as they lost by 40 points. All the teams return to action on Friday when they finally play their first home game of the year against the Chaska Hawks.
