While Hudson controlled the first half the final frame belonged to Waconia as they outscored the Raiders 30-12 on their way to a 55-40 victory. Turnovers and foul trouble plagued the Cats through the first 18 minutes. Some hot shooting by Caroline Jacobs kept the Cats in striking distance. ![]() Senior F Steph Dressen In the 2nd half the Cats limited Hudson to just 5 points in the first 9 minutes. The stingy defense turned the game around and then it was Brenna Rice's turn to hit some big shots. She scored all 8 of her points in the 2nd half. Waconia also did a much better job of taking care of the basketball as their turnover total dropped from 15 in the first half to just 6 in the second. Senior F Sarah Christians ![]() ![]() Junior G Brenna Rice Waconia won the rebounding battle 40-26 with Steph Dressen grabbing 15 boards and Sarah Christians adding 9. Steph Dressen finished the game with 7 blocked shots. The Cats will need to play better on Saturday if they hope to claim the tourney title as they take on perennial AAAA power Elk River. The Elks stomped on Zimmerman by 30 in the other semi-final game. Tipoff is scheduled for 4pm.
