INDIANAPOLIS, IN – TV 40 Sports unveils the beginning of our college football schedule this season, as once again WHMB is the home of the ESPN regional SEC Game of the Week, featuring 14 exciting college football matchups on WHMB 40.1. And for a second straight year, WHMB will also be bringing exciting ACC college football action to central Indiana too, with 14 exciting ACC matchups on WHMB digital channel 40.2.
The SEC Game of the Week (the conference is heralded as the best in the country) kicks off on WHMB 40.1 at noon Saturday, September 1st, with Buffalo from the MAC Conference facing the #6 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were 10-4 last season, losing to LSU 42-10 in the SEC Championship game. Georgia was one of the more potent offensive teams in the SEC a year ago, ranking behind only Arkansas and Alabama in total offense with 408 yards per game, while putting up 32 points per game. The catalyst last year was quarterback Aaron Murray, who completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 3,149 yards and a league-best 35 touchdowns. Murray is a 2012 potential Heisman contender.
The ACC Game of the Week kicks off on WHMB 40.2 at noon Saturday, September 1st, with Elon visiting the Tar Heels of North Carolina. Then, each Saturday on 40.2 immediately following the ACC game, there will be an encore performance of WHMB’s Friday night Indiana Members Credit Union High School Game of the Week.
