Home » Boys' Basketball NewsWhitefield's Kenny Gaines One of Topped Ranked in NationMay 18, 2011 By Will McNeeley of Whitefield AcademyAfter two years of hard work and much success on the court, Kenny Gaines is starting to see his success. On Monday night, Rivals.com released their new ranking of the 2012 class of basketball players of the top 150 in the nation. Several people, including myself, wondered if he would be included in the rankings since he has over 10 offers. Some of these offers coming from some highly ranked programs in the nation, some in the Big East, SEC, and ACC. The worked paid off and Whitefield's own is ranked number 98th in the nation. Some skeptics believe, however, that he deserves to be ranked even higher. With summer workouts and the bulk of the AAU season coming up, Kenny once again has a chance to show he belongs to be ranked with the best of the best.
