WolfPack kicks off 2010 season with scrimmage game
Whitefield's Varsity Football team kicked off their 2010 season with a scrimmage at Darlington against the Tigers this past Friday night at Darlington in Rome, GA. The game, played against the Tigers, was a scrimmage format. The first half was played in 10 play increments by each team and the second half was played as a more traditional game.
The game featured a number of veterans as well as new underclassman in key roles. On offense Khalen Pinkett Smith, Kennard Backman, Cameron Lemons, Kyle Gutteridge, Max Kemether and Max Rieves combined for a total of 116 yards rushing. Three QBs combined for a total of 105 yards passing (Lemons, Goudiss and Kemether) and stepped up well when Cameron Lemons went out early with an injury.
The defense played well and held Darlington scoreless in the first half. Key tackles by Gutteridge, Backman, Alar, Sutherland, Russell, Washington, Pinkett Smith, Martin, Manning/Manning, Fields, Rieves, Sherrell and Whitney.
Whitefield opens their 2010 season at home on their new turf on August 27th at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support the team against rival Walker. GO PACK!
