Chargers Split in Madison Grant Tourney

The West Noble Charger bats were alive this past weekend in the Madison Grant tourney as they defeated Tri Central 11-1 in the first game and falling 15-12 to Eastern in the Championship game. The Chargers rapped out 11 hits and received a strong pitching performance by Levi Nelson in the opener. Landon Stover led the Chargers with 3 hits and 3 RBI's against Tri Central, while Waylon Richardson chipped in with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Stover recorded 2 doubles while Richardson had 1 double. Nelson struck out 8 in 5 innings of work.
In the nightcap, the Chargers fell behind 15-3 after 3 innings before rallying back in the latter innings. Levi Nelson and Pancho Luevano each added 3 hits while Nelson drove in 5 runs and Luevano 3. Waylon Richardson, Riley McFarren and Landon Stover each added 2 hits for the Chargers. Sean Bush solid in relief for the Chargers allowing only 5 runs in 5 innings of work against the hard hitting Eastern squad. The Chargers have a busy week as they host the Eastside Blazers tonight in a NECC game beginning at 5pm. Good luck guys!
