April 29, 2014
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School

The girls track team competed in the Turtle Town Classic in Churubusco this past Saturday.  The Chargers received a school record breaking performance by Amairany Cruz in the 200 M dash as she was clocked at 26.48 to break the previous record held by Angie Leamon.  Cruz also finished 2nd in the 400 M dash and 6th in the 100 for the Chargers.  West Noble’s Yvette Rojas placed 7th overall in the 3200 M run while Amanda Huntsman finished 8th in the 300 Hurdles.  The 400 M relay team consisting of Cruz, Jessica Vasquez, Erin Mawhorter, and Kelsie Peterson ran a 53.02 to finish 5th overall for the Chargers.  The Chargers are back in action tonight as they will take on the Westview Warriors in a girls track meet.  Good luck ladies!
