Chargers Roll To Sectional Finals

The West Noble Chargers took control of the 2nd half to down NECC rival Fairfield for a trip to the sectional finals Fiday night at Wawasee. The Chargers were victorious by a score of 70-46 after outscoring the Falcons by 18 after halftime. Coach Jim Best and his team were led by a balance scoring effort led by Drew Schermerhorn's 25 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Junior Brandon Moser went 5 for 5 from beyond the arc for 15 points and fellow junior Waylon Richardson racked up a double double with 15 points and 10 boards. Senior Phil Miller was 1 point shy of a double double as he recorded 9 points and 10 assists to go along with his 5 rebounds. Senior Brandon Evans had another solid floor game for the Chargers as he notched 6 points on the evening to go along with is 3 assists and 2 steals. The 18-5 Chargers will now take on the state's 5th ranked NorthWood Panthers who advanced to the finals by defeating Lakeland Tuesday and Tippecanoe Valley last night by 4 points.
