Lady Chargers Down Hornets in NECC Action

The West Noble Lady Chargers defeated the always tough Angola Hornets Wednesday night in a NECC quarterfinal matchup held at Angola by a score of 51-42. The Chargers were able to jump out to an early 10-5 lead over the Hornets on their way to the 9 point victory. The Chargers outscored the Hornets by 10 as in the 3rd quarter and eventually had the lead to 20 points in the 4th quarter. The Chargers received a solid team effort led by Kelsie Peterson's 16 points, Kaylie Warble's 8 and Kenzie Cox's 8. Sophomore Paige Shearer chipped in 7 points while junior Shawna Young added 6. Taylor Fisher and Becca Schermerhorn rounded out the scoring with 3 points each. The Chargers now face the Fremont Eagles Friday night for an NECC semi final matchup. That game will be played at Eastside beginning at 6pm. The winner will advance to the NECC Championship game that will be played Saturday night at West Noble. Good luck ladies!
