Chargers Top Lakers in Hoops Action

The West Noble Chargers came sizzling against the Lakeland Lakers on Friday night on their way to a 72-55 win over the NECC foe. The Chargers outscored the Lakers 27-10 in the first quarter with many of the points coming from beyond the 3 point arc. Senior guard Drew Schermerhorn led the Charger scoring with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Schermerhorn was 5-7 beyond the arc. Fellow senior Brandon Evans was also lethal behind the arc as he nailed 5 3pointers of his own on his way to 18 points. Evans also led the Chargers with 8 assists and 4 steals. Also chipping in with 10 points was Phil Miller as the Chargers increased their record to 8-0 on the season. The Chargers were also recognized this week in the State Rankings as #10 in 3A. The next game for West Noble is Wednesday at Angola. It is a NECC tourney game that will start at 6pm with the girls game followed by the boys. Good luck guys!
