Lady Chargers Lose at Buzzer to Wildcats

The West Noble Lady Chargers lost a tough one in South Whitley last Thursday to the Whitko Wildcats 66=64. The Chargers battled tough despite falling behind early and having Lexi Shepherd out early. The Chargers also had four players foul out in the 4th quarter in this tight ball game. The winning shot came off an offensive rebound by the Wildcats who then put the layup in the basket as time expired. West Noble was led in scoring by 27 points by Kelsie Peterson(24 in the 2nd half). Peterson also added 10 rebounds and 8 steals for the Chargers. Junior Taylor Fisher and sophomore Kenzie Cox were both instrumental in the Chargers 2nd half comeback. Fisher had 8 points and 6 rebounds while Cox added 5 points and 7 rebounds. Despite battling foul trouble early on, freshman Kayllie Warble battled for 9 rebounds and tipped many others while frustrating the Wildcats inside game. Becca Schermerhorn also sparked the Chargers early on with 10 points as the Chargers dropped to 7-4 on the season.
In the JV game, West Noble was victorious by a 31-27 score in overtime. Cara Groff led the Chargers with 13 points while Kenzie Teel added 8. The Chargers(7-2) also got 5 from Brooke Lutton, 3 from Kendall Baker and 2 from Kelsey Clark. Great job ladies!
