Chargers Down Jimtown in Boys Tennis
October 1, 2013By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School
The West Noble Chargers defeated a tough Jimtown team Monday as the Chargers celebrated senior night by a 3-2 score. Playing in their last home match for the Chargers were #1 singles player Tyler Rothhaar and #1 doubles player Quinn Groff. Both seniors have been very instrumental in the success of the Charger tennis program. Coach Riegsecker credits the duo with being solid leaders that have helped bring along the younger players. On Monday, Rothhaar wore down his opponent in a 3 set thriller that proved to be the margin of victory for the Chargers. Meanwhile, Groff and his partner Ryan Kendall were edged 4-6,3-6. The Chargers will next play in the East Noble sectional on Thursday as they will play the winner of East Noble and Central Noble at 5pm. Good luck guys!
