IHSAA Tip of the Week

February 25, 2013
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School

How do you react after a tough loss?  Can you get over your disappointment immediately?  Are you cordial during the post-game handshakes as you walk through the line congratulating the other team? It's true, all competitive athletes are disappointed after a loss.  It's understandable that you may be upset and want some time alone. However, be sure to represent yourself and your school in a professional manner as you go through the line congratulating the other team and coaches. It's okay to be disappointed, but do so without a negative attitude and negative comments.  If not, when it's all said and done and the smoke has cleared, you will be very unhappy with yourself and your actions.  Content property of Billy Shepherd Sports Inc.
