Lady Chargers Fall to NorthWood in Sectional Finals

By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolThe West Noble Chargers girls basketball season came to an end Saturday night in Nappanee as the host Lady Panthers defeated West Noble by a 48-33 score in the IHSAA Class 3A Sectional Championship Game. The Lady Chargers(16-8) battled the Lady Panthers(22-3) hard all night, but were unable to get closer than six in the 4th quarter. The Lady Chargers were led by Kelsie Peterson's 10 points and 9 from Haley Richardson. Ashley Shepherd chipped in 6 points while Kohdee Hicks and Paige Shearer each added 4. The Chargers advanced to the finals by defeating Tippecanoe Valley and Lakeland in earlier sectional games. West Noble's 16 wins ties the school record for most wins in a season by a girls basketball team. The Lady Chargers will be losing Haley Richardson, Ashley Shepherd and Kohdee Hicks to graduation. Manager Hannah Bright will also be graduating for the Lady Chargers. You will all be missed next year and thank you for your dedication to West Noble Lady Chargers basketball!
