Chelsea Hite Making an Impact at Eastern Michigan

January 31, 2013
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School

Former West Noble Lady Charger basketball player Chelsea Hite is making a difference on and off the court for the Division 1 Eastern Michigan basketball team.  Hite just recently came off a 8 point 6 rebound performance in a 61-47 loss to Bowling Green University.  The 6'4" senior from Ligonier has seen her playing time increase dramatically as the season has evolved.  The highlights from the game are posted on the Eastern Michigan website in which Hite is involved in a number of the plays.  http://www.emueagles.com/news/2013/1/27/WBB_0127134305.aspx?path=wbball

Hite, a three sport star at West Noble, is also going to be a part of a basketball clinic in February for the kids in the Newtown, CT community.  It will be an opportunity for the Lady Eagles to help bring smiles to the faces of the children in the community.  Coach Tory Verdi says "As a coach, social responsibility and citizenship are character traits that I reinforce in our players on a daily basis. 'Smiles and Basketball' is one way that our team, school and community can unite and provide something positive out of this horrific experience."  For more information, please visit the website www.emueagles.com.

Well done Chelsea!  We are proud of you!
