January 1, 2013
West Noble High School

The Lady Chargers ran their winning streak to five games with a 75-64 win over Tippy Valley at home Saturday.  The Chargers were lead by Haley Richardson with 25 points and 11 rebounds followed by 19 points and six steals by Kelsie Peterson.  Ashley Shepherd, who was coming off a weeklong illness, added four three-pointers for 12 points and Kenzie Cox added 6.  Paige Shearer, who was also battling illness contributed 5, Cara Groff in her first start tossed in 4, Lexi Shepherd, Shawna Young each scored 2 points each.  It was a total team victory as 8 of the 10 girls who played scored and everyone stepped-up as foul trouble hindered the Chargers.  West Noble now stands at 9-4 with a 6-1 conference record.  Next action will be a boy/girl varsity game Friday January 4th  against Lakeland with the girls starting at 6pm.

The Junior Varsity Chargers struggled and suffered their 3rd loss of the season in a 32-30 defeat to Tippy Valley.  Leading the way was Priscila Ortiz with 10, Becca Schermerhorn 6 and Kendal Baker 5.  Rounding out the scoring was Darby Allen 3 and Lexi Shepherd, Sandra Carrillo and Brooke Lutton 2 each.  The JV record now stands at 10-3 with their next action Thursday at Lakeland with the girls starting at 6pm.
