Chargers Comeback on Blazers to Make it 8 Straight

The West Noble Charger boys basketball team climbed out of a huge hole Friday night and escaped with a 43-39 NECC victory over the Eastside Blazers in Butler. The Chargers trailed early on by a 16-2 score as the Blazers scortched the nets early on in the 1st quarter. The Chargers battled back and trailed by only 6 at halftime. The 3rd quarter belonged ot the Chargers as they outscored the Blazers by 10 highlighted by a buzzer beating 3 by senior Nick Thomas. The Chargers held on in the 4th to bring their season record up to 8-0 and 4-0 in the NECC. Leading the scoring for West Noble were Keith Gibson and Drew Schermerhorn with 11 and 9 respectively. Phil Miller chipped in 7 while Nick Thomas added 6. Nick Noe grabbed a team high 6 rebounds to go along with his 4 points while Miller added 5 rebounds to go along with his game high 5 assists. The Chargers will next host the Lakeland Lakers this Friday in a boy/girl doubleheader. The girls varsity game will start a 6pm followed by the boys varsity game.
In the JV game, the boys were again victorious over Eastside by a 46-34 score. Scoring leaders for the Chargers were Waylon Richardson with 13, Kyler Warble and Drew Wiley with 9, Nik Risser scored 8 and Brandon Moser chipped in 7 for the 6-2 Chargers. Great job guys.
