Lady Chargers Defeat PH Panthers
December 28, 2012By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School
The West Noble Lady Chargers go into Christmas break on a four game winning streak on the heels of a 60-38 victory over visiting Prairie Heights. Another quick start for the Chargers help pave the way as they won the first period 20-11 and went into halftime holding a 31-22 lead over the Panthers. Winning the third quarter by 4, West Noble put the game away with an 11-2 fourth period and run away with the victory. Leading the way was a 26 point performance by Kelsie Peterson. Haley Richardson had 13, Ashley Shepherd 8 and off the bench Taylor Fisher had an outstanding game with 7 points. Rounding out the scoring was Kenzie Cox with 3, Lexi Shepherd 2 and Paige Shearer with 1 point. The Chargers hold an 8-4 overall record and their 6-1 record in the conference allows them to sit alone in second place. The Ladies play this Saturday the 29th at home in a non-conference battle against visiting Tippy Valley. Start time is 6pm for the JV game.
The JV Chargers cruised to another victory with a 46-15 win over Prairie Heights. West Noble JV holds a 10-2 record, possibly the first time ever the Chargers have had 10 victories before the break! Once again tough defense and balanced scoring lead the way as the defense did not allow more than 6 points in any quarter and no less than 9 Chargers scored! Scoring leaders were Becca Schermerhorn with 13, Brooke Lutton 7, Priscila Ortiz 6 and Shawna young 5. Rounding out the scoring were Lexi Shepherd and Sandra Carrillo 4 points, Paige Shearer and Kendal Baker 3, and Cara Groff chipped in 1. Great job ladies!!
