Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Chargers Down CougarsDecember 17, 2012 By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolWest Noble girls basketball team improved to 7-4 with a convincing 65-32 victory over conference and county rival Central Noble. The Chargers jumped out to a quick first quarter lead of 25-6 and never looked back. By shooting over 50% for the game West Noble won every quarter with 11 players getting into the game with 8 scoring. Leading the way was Haley Richardson with a season high 22, Kelsie Peterson 13, Ashley Shepherd 11 and Paige Shearer 8. The rest of the scoring was provided by Kenzie Cox with 5 and Taylor Fisher, Cara Groff and Lexi Shepherd 2 points each. The Chargers' conference record now stands at 5-1.
The JV continued its fine play with a 47-15 win to improve its record to 9-2 and 6-0 on the conference. Solid play by the entire team at both ends of the floor allowed the Chargers to win every quarter and strong defense did not give up more than 6 points in any period. Sandy Carrillo had a season high 13 points with Shawna young and Priscila Ortiz also getting season bests of 8 points each. Rounding out the scoring was Paige shearer with 7, Lexi Shepherd and Becca Schermerhorn 4, Brooke Lutton 2 and Darby Allen 1 point.
