IHSAA Tip of the Week

November 26, 2012
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School

A big part of participating on a team is being a good teammate.  Do you know what it takes to be a good teammate?

A good teammate makes their team better by having a positive presence at all times.  A good teammate never complains, always listens, works with others well, and does what is asked at all times.

A good teammate wants what is best for the team and supports their teammates, rather than thinking about themselves and their own performances.

Coaches at every level and in every sport are always looking for players that are good teammates.  You don't have to be the best player to have a positive effect on your team!
