Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Chargers Clip Eagles in NECC HoopsNovember 26, 2012 By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolThe West Noble Lady Chargers improved to 3-2 and 2-1 in conference play with a hard fought come-from-behind victory over a tough Fremont team. Down 28 to 19 at halftime the Chargers used a strong second half to pull away for a 55 to 47 victory. The second half was sparked by defensive pressure that led to transition baskets and a change in momentum. Using a steady inside-out game West Noble was able to hold off Fremont for the conference win. Leading the way again was Kelsie Peterson with 14, Haley Richardsons double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, Ashley Shepherd 10 and Taylor Fisher with a career high of 9 points. Also scoring was Lexi shepherd, Shawna Young, Kenzie Cox and Cara Groff with 2 points each. Paige Shearer and Kohdee Hicks added one each. The junior varsity kept rolling with a convincing victory over Fremont 48-17. Becca Schermerhorn and Cara Groff shared scoring honors with 11 each. Brooke Lutton added 8, Kenzie Cox 7, Sandra Carrillo 4, Kendal Baker, Paige Shearer and Priscila Ortiz tossed in 2 each. Darby Allen added 1 point for the 4-1 Lady Chargers! Both Varsity and JV play Tuesday at Wawasee. Game time for the JV game is 6:15. FremontTeam Roster & Game Stats
