Home » Boys' Basketball NewsWest Beats East in County ClashNovember 21, 2012 By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolFor many of the Charger faithful....walking into the Big Blue Pit stirs memories of yesteryear, but for this year's team it was all about the present as West Noble defeated East Noble by a 53-45 score behind a solid defensive performance by the visitors. The Chargers jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and were able to withstand a furious East Noble rally in the 4th quarter to hold on for the win. The Chargers were led in scoring by Drew Schermerhorn(23) and Keith Gibson(19), but the Chargers also received strong play from 6'7" Nick Noe, Phil Miller and Nick Thomas. Noe anchored down the middle for the Chargers while Miller and Thomas took turns running the show for the Chargers while also playing strong games defensivey. Junior Brandon Evans came off the bench to hit big free throws in the 4th to help the Chargers close out the victory. In JV action, the Chargers were defeated by a 32-25 score and the C team also lost 37-25. The JV and Varsity will play at Bethany on Saturday at 6pm. Go Chargers!
