November 19, 2012
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolWest Noble Girls evened their overall to 2-2 and their conference record to 1-1 with a hard fought 47-39 win over a pesky Hamilton team at home Friday night. West Noble trailed 27-21 at halftime but a big third quarter put the Chargers on top to stay as they lead 37-32 after three periods. The Chargers pressure and some surprise contributions from the bench helped West Noble come away with a victory. Leading the scoring was Kelsie Peterson with 15, Haley Richardson 14 and Ashley Shepherd 13. No less than twelve Chargers played substantial minutes but the defensive hustle of Paige Shearer and the tough rebounding of Darby Allen Cara Groff really made a difference in the game changing third quarter. Also scoring Friday were Taylor Fisher and Groff with 2 each and 1 point for Allen. Chargers resume conference play with a key battle Friday the 23rd against undefeated 3-0 Fremont. Junior varsity begins at 6pm.
