IHSAA Tip of the Week

November 12, 2012
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School

What do coaches look for in a student-athlete?  Is it all about ability, or do attitude and effort play just as much importance?

The best combination is to have someone who is skilled, dedicated to their sport, and can accept coaching along with some constructive criticism from time to time.

If you have a coach that you think gets on you too much, be sure that you are listening to the message and not the tone of delivery.
