Chargers Edged By Eagles on Gridiron
October 13, 2012
By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolThe West Noble Charger football team traveled to Fremont and battled the Eagles for four quarters before losing 27=26. Big plays were the name of the game as both the Eagles and Chargers scored with big plays. West Noble's Erik Mawhorter scored four touchdowns including runs of 6, 68 and 37 while rushing for 144 yards on 19 carries. Mawhorter's 4th TD came on a 57 yard pass from junior Landon Stover. One interesting highlight of the first quarter was a fake punt that resulted in a 42 yard completion to Andrew Skaggs from Stover. The Chargers now will have a week to get ready for Tippecanoe Valley. That sectional game will be at West Noble beginning at 7:30pm on Friday night. Good luck guys!
