Golfers Place 3rd in NECC Tourney
September 8, 2012By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High School
The West Noble Charger golf team got off to a quick start in the NECC golf tournament on Saturday as they trailed the leading Fairfield Falcons by only 5 strokes. However, the back nine at Cedar Lake was not kind for the Chargers as they dropped off the pace and settled in for a very respectable 3rd place finish. Leading the way for West Noble was freshman Paige Shearer while sophomore Haley Teel and Rachel Stohlman were just 3 strokes back. Rounding out the scoring for West Noble was junior Molly Marsh who recorded a 117 in her first year of golf. Senior Bre Whitney was the final Chargers on the scoreboard as she recorded a 122. Shearer, Teel and Stohlman all three qualified for Honorable Mention All NECC as a result of their finish. Great job ladies.
