Chargers Down Lakers in Volleyball

The West Noble Charger volleyball team swept the Lakeland Lakers last night by a score of 26-24,25-7,25-10.  The Chargers were led by Chelsea Risser's 13 aces to go along with her 5 serving aces.  Kelsie Peterson also led the Chargers with 22 assists and 11 digs while Haley Richardson added 8 kills for the visiting Chargers.  Cara Groff also added 4 kills and Rachel Schermerhorn had 3 kills to go along with her team leading 6 aces.  Charger libero Trinity Patton also added 5 aces to go along with her 7 digs.  The Chargers are now 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the NECC.  The Chargers next play at Hamilton on Monday night.  JV game time is 6pm.

In Junior Varsity action, the Chargers won over the Lakers 25-13, 25-13.  Statistical leaders for the Chargers were:

Assists- Becca Schermerhorn-10, Alexis Morris-2

Kills Sammi Patillo- 7 Vanessa Ratliff- 5, Taylor Fisher-2

Digs- Alexis Morris 8, Maya Mora 7, Sammi Patillo 6

Aces- Taylor Fisher 5  

The JV team is now 3-1 in the NECC and 5-8 overall.

The C team lost a tough 3 set match to the Lakers by a score of 20-25, 25-15, 10-15. 

Leaders for the Chargers were as follows:

Assists:  Tara Edsall 4

Kills:  Kendall Baker 2, Megan Pearsall 2, Tara Edsall 2

Digs:  Lauren Durbin 4

Aces:  Sarah Buchanan 6, Libbey Tierney 6

The Freshman play in the Warsaw tourney on Saturday.  Good luck ladies.
