Chargers Clip Falcons in Sectional Opener

The West Noble Chargers opened their quest for a sectional crown by downing NECC rival Fairfield Tuesday night in the Class 3A NorthWood Sectional by a score of 66-52.  The Chargers received a strong team effort on Tuesday as they were able to wear down the Falcons in the 2^nd half.   Sophomores Keith Gibson and Drew Schermerhorn led the Chargers with 20 points each while Phil Miller drew the defensive assignment of Fairfield’s high scoring Chandler Kauffman and held to just 12 points.  Gibson also managed to pull down a game high 11 rebounds.  Juniors Nick Noe(9) and Armando Rosales(2) played big in the post as both were solid contributors for the Chargers.  Nick Thomas had another solid floor game for the Chargers as he directed the Charger offense and took the ball to the basket strong on his way to 13 points and 4 assists.  Seniors Jordan Younce and Damon Lortie both did well off the bench for the Chargers as West Noble outscored Fairfield by a score of 20-11 in the 3^rd quarter.  The Chargers will play the Wawasee Warriors on Friday night at the Panther Pit beginning at approximately 7:30p.m.  The opening game will match the Lakeland Lakers and NorthWood Panthers.  Great job guys and good luck Friday!
