Home » Boys' Basketball NewsBoys March to NECC Semi FinalsJanuary 12, 2012 By Tom Schermerhorn of West Noble High SchoolThe West Noble boys basketball team held off a determined Eastside Blazer squad Wednesday night in the NECC tourney quarterfinals. The Chargers and Blazers were knotted up at halftime 20-20, but the Chargers came out firing in the second half by outscoring the Blazers by 14 in the 3rd quarter. Nick Thomas led the Chargers with 12 points and 6 assists while Nick Noe scored 11 points including 2 big free throws to put the game away in the last minute. 6'5 senior Jordan Younce knocked down 10 points and 8 rebounds while teammate Drew Schermerhorn chipped in 7. The Chargers(5-6) will now face the tough Fremont Eagles(7-3) in a NECC semi final matchup Friday night at West Noble. Game time is 6pm for the girls game and the boys game will follow.
