Westmoreland BMX finale and Trick or Treat
October 24, 2012By Dan murphy of Westmoreland BMX
Hard to believe that another year has come and gone at Westmoreland BMX. It seems like yesterday that we were all in a frenzy to get our track ready for open house and now its all over. 2012 was a great season all around with packed gates and exciting racing. We started out with a dreary open house but that didnt keep our racers away, it seemed to make them want on the track more. Westmoreland BMX had its ups and downs though. We had great weather leading up to the state race then a flood the day before, a big thumbs up to all that pitched in to get the track ready. We had too numerous to mention numbers of people helping out with all the duties and the accomplishments of our track really showed. We had crowds watching full gates of racers give it their all on the track, really good concession stand food for all to enjoy, and exciting announcing to pump it up. The jersey series was a huge success with alot of racers qualifying. I'm sure everyone will be excited to get their jerseys at the 2013 Westmoreland BMX open house. I've seen the proof jersey and they look great (you can all relax, I didn't design them). The last race on October 20th was also our Trick or Treat day at the track. We all got a little wet but at least when the rain stopped the sun came out. There were witches, zombies, hunters, farmers and prinesses at the track after the race. So many different costumes, I even saw Darth Vader. And the candy was moving, they are lucky that I didnt get ahold of the candy before the race or there might not have been any left to give out. I feel really good about all our accomplishments at Westmoreland BMX for 2012, I had a great time and can't wait for 2013.
