Shiloh Park, Brandon. A tired  Lady Mustangs soccer team played their third game of the day against 6A Harrison Central in the final round of games at The Show 2013.

Senior midfielder Beth Coleman opened the scoring in the 17th minute of play. 7th grade forward Briana Carr stole an errant Rebel pass and flicked it over to junior Carly Mauldin who found Coleman. She cut up the back and finished under the keeper’s right.

In the 27th minute, freshman forward Meredith Follis played a driven through ball and Carr raced onto it. She held off a Rebel defender for about twenty yards and finished high into the back post for her first career varsity goal.

Four minutes after the half, a Rebel received a yellow card after a foul just outside the penalty area. Coleman would then score her third goal off a free kick at The Show.

Coleman scored her third of the match and 6th of the tournament on a steal and breakaway pushing the lead to 4-0.

The backline limited the Red Rebels to five shots on goal. Junior keeper Abby Baravik saved all five for her 8th shutout of the season.

Next up for the Mustangs is a date at Ridgeland in a rematch of the 2010, 2011 and 2012 state championship match.
