Mustangs open district play with win at Wayne County

Waynesboro—Senior Evan Buckley broke into the scoring column in the 14th minute with his first of three goals. Junior midfielder Omar Garcia set up the goal after a steal and layoff.

Sophomore forward Blake Anderson scored the second goal after a Chase Brown crossing pass put Anderson inside the six yard box.

The War Eagles scored the next goal just after the second half began to cut the lad to 2-1. From there, it was all green and gold.

Buckley scored again off a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Donaldo Martinez in the 54th minute. Sophomore forward Kyle Estess scored in the 61st minute off a give and go from Buckley.

Junior fullback Austin Herrington rebounded an Estess shot off the crossbar and hit his first goal of the season.

Buckley finished the scoring in the 68th minute when his shot was saved, but sent right back to him. He finished the rebound for his third goal of the match. West Jones im-proved to (7-3, 1-0).
