Boys move to 3-0 with win over Resurrection

Laurel Sportsplex—The Mustangs looked to push their regular season record to 3-0 in the final game of the Laurel tourney. West would face a scrappy Resurrection team from Gulfport. The visitors would score first on a quick switch and counter down the right side.

Junior Blake Anderson would equalize the match when he sent a screamer into the net off a corner kick from Kyle Estess.

The Mustangs would have several quality attempts in the first half, but the score remained tied at the break.

Junior midfielder Omar Garcia would score the game winning goal when his bending shot ran away from the keeper.

Estess would add another goal after senior midfielder Evan Buckley found him in space cutting in front of the center fullback.

Junior keeper Jacob Hauenstein made four saves for his third win of the year.

“It was great to have most of our guys on the field today,” said Coach Winship.
