Girls WIN Bi-County with TEAM effort!! Boys finish a close 3rd.

On Friday evening, the Lady Trojan Track Team traveled to Oregon-Davis to compete in the 2012 Bi-County Meet.  The team had a very successful evening with major highlights being: the 3200 M Relay team of Barkho, Krintz, Wenzel, and Bailey finishing first with a time of 10:36, to not only set a new Bi-County record, but a new West Central record as well!  Marissa Hamilton set a new Bi-County record in the high jump with a jump of 5'5".  The team finished in 1st place with a score of 161 over Winamac's 117, North Judson's 102, Oregon-Davis's 56, and Knox's 51!  This victory was a huge team effort.  Congratulations to everyone on great job!  Placing for the Lady Trojans: 3200 M Relay: Barkho, Krintz, Wenzel, and Bailey 1st. 100 M Hurdles: Hamilton 1st, M. Bushman 6th. 100 M: Tanner 3rd, Gudeman 5th. 1600 M: Barkho 1st, Todd 5th.  400 M Relay: Tanner, Kruger, Gudeman, and Hamilton 1st.  400 M: Wenzel 1st, Masters 6th.  300 M Hurdles: Kruger 3rd, M. Bushman 5th.  800 M: Wenzel 1st, Bailey 2nd, Tanner 5th.  200 M: Hamilton 1st, Gudeman 6th.  3200 M: Barkho 1st, Todd 3rd.  1600 M Relay: Wenzel, M. Bushman, Kruger, and Tanner 3rd.  High Jump: Hamilton 1st, Kruger 4th.  Long Jump: Barkho 3rd, Gudeman 5th.  Shot Put: Tendick 3rd, M. Bushman 6th.  Discus: Tendick 2nd, Masters 6th.  Again, congratulations to the team on a well deserved win!

On Friday evening the West Central Boy’s track and field team traveled to Oregon-Davis for the 5-team Bi-County meet. After many exciting PR and record-breaking performances the Trojans ended up a close third, scoring 102 points to the winner, Winamac’s, 153, and second place Knox’s 105. Finishing fourth was North Judson with 101 and OD was 5^th with 26.  Highlights of the evening were the 4 x 100 relay team of Seth Gutwein, Spencer Dobson, Chantz Marlatt, and Michael Hamilton’s win in a time of 44.98 that broke the bi-county record of 45.0 and the West Central School Record of 45.3 set by Jake Smidler, Spencer Dobson, Dalton Powell and Jason Minix in 2008. Michael also won the high jump. Chantz and Seth G. finished 1-2 in both the 100 and 200. Jordan Culp finished 1^st in shot put. The boys wish to extend congratulations on the girls’ team for winning the Bi-County Meet! Our next meet is the Mid-West Conference meet at South Newton this Friday.
