Big win for homecoming

October 14, 2012
By Vernon Whittington of West High School

The Cowboys ran onto the field on a cool Friday night to face the Manual Thunderbolts in a colorado league clash of 1-4 teams and long time DPS rivals. With both teams off to a slow start to the season and in need of a win, the Cowboys on homecoming night said that this was the night to get it done. With a solid game from the entire team the Cowboys came out on top with a score of 42-0 bringing a smile to coach Garcia's face and giving the senior class its first homecoing win. With this years homecoming week ending with a victory, this is the most school spirit West has seen in over ten years. Coach Garcia wanted to give out a big thanks for the great spirit week, pep rally, tailgate and support at the game.
