By wfrunning Behnke of Weyauwega-Fremont High SchoolSome people may think that the number of students from Weyauwega-Fremont High School who graduate and then continue their athletic careers in college is very, very small. And it probably is.
But this year, the WFRunning program has at least three of its former stars continuing the great tradition of former Indians competing at the college level.
Josey Bellin, 2006 WFHS grad, may be the headliner, but Kristin Johnson, 2007, and Andrew Wepner, 2008 are also doing their thing running collegiate cross country. This past weekend, the Ripon College Invitational saw Kristin Johnson competing on the big field of dreams. Saturday, the Ripon RedHawks hosted a small college cross country Invitational on their campus. And there was Kristin Johnson competing for the meet champions from Stevens Point. Unfortunately, Andrew had to sit on the sidelines because of a nagging injury.
Here are the links to more information about these proud young WFHS grads carrying on the Indian Tradition.
