WFHS Cross Country Season Comes to a Close
October 25, 2010
By wfrunning Behnke of Weyauwega-Fremont High SchoolRunning with a depleted crew, the Wega Girls Cross Country team finished the season by placing 12th out of 18 schools at the Freedom Sectional
Meanwhile, the boys team did a great job in placing 13th out of 18 schools.
No Indian runners finished in the top five of individual runners, and so Coach Nick Winn's inaugural season comes to a bittersweet close.
Bittersweet, bitter because several goals for the season were left on the table, and sweet because this young group of Weyauwega-Fremont Runners really made great progress throughout the course of the season.
As proof of that just one senior WFHS girl ran in the talent laden Freedom Girls Sectional, and only three of the 7 boys who competed for Wega were seniors.
Things are really looking good for 2011
Here are the complete reults as the Freedom Irish and Notre Dame Academy Boys teams qualified for this Saturday's State Meet.
For the girls, Notre Dame Academy, and the CWC Conference Champions from Wittenberg-Birnamwood qualified for the State Championships.
