Boys and Girls XC Win Tiger Classic

The varsity boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Lebanon tonight to compete in the Tiger Classic that included Lebanon, Clinton Central, and University. Both squads came away with 1st place finishes.
In the boys race, Connor Smith and Zach Wade set the pace finishing 1st and 2nd, respectively. Both runners also set personal best times of 18:34 and 18:36. Doug Mathis finished 4th overall with a personal best time of 19:19. Justin Foxworthy finished 8th with a personal best time of 19:53. The final scorer for the Stars was Grant Stauffer with a time of 19:59.
"My guys continue to impress me," said head coach Dustin Harrison. "They are such competitors and seem to be peaking at the right time this year."
Final scoring in the boys race: Webo 25, University 44, Clinton Central 76, & Lebanon 88.
Madi Gourley led the girls' team with a personal best time of 22:37 and a 3rd place finish overall. Hannah Hayden placed 4th overall with a personal best time of 23:15. Alexis Goglia celebrated her birthday tonight with a 7th place overall finish and a personal best time of 24:03. Bridget Wiley took 9th place with a personal best time of 24:31. The final scorer for the Stars was Lindsey Olsen with a time of 25:04.
Final scoring in the girls race: Webo 36, Clinton Central 39, Lebanon 56, & University 105.
"This was a big night for my girls," said Harrison. "I'm so proud of each and every one of these girls for the effort they gave tonight. I have always believed in them, but I think they are finally beginning to believe in themselves."
The Stars will be in action on Saturday at the Flash Rock Invitational.
