The Clarksville senior spent the summer months preparing for his final seasons of football and basketball.
“It was pretty crazy trying to juggle AAU (basketball) and football,” said McEwen. “Some days I had football workouts at 7 (a.m.) and then go to (basketball) games later in the day. It’s been a really quick summer.”
McEwen, a wide receiver and safety for the football Generals, is excited about the school’s potential this season.
“I think this will be a good year for us. We’ve got most of our defense back and about 10 starters coming back.”
But McEwen is quick to remind you that the roundball is what make him tick.
“Basketball is by far my favorite. Football is fun and a lot of my friends play, and I love going out there on Friday nights underneath the lights.”
Basketball — Interest from Bellarmine, Maryville, Cornell and “a long list of small colleges.” He took a campus visit to IU South Bend in late July.
Football — Received letters of interest from Georgia Tech, Michigan State and Kentucky.
“If football presents a better opportunity for me to go somewhere, then I’d have to consider it,” he said. “I’m just kind of going with the flow and seeing what happens.”
OFF THE COURT
“I really like to hang out with family and friends, and I also enjoy just watching TV, relaxing, swimming.”
