Brandon Beam poured in 36 points to lead Borden past visiting Rock Creek Academy 79-71 Saturday night in boys’ high school basketball.

Borden (14-1) led just 45-44 after the third quarter but pulled away with 34 points in the final period.

DeJon Garner, a senior guard, paced the Lions (7-9) with 31 points, while Will Brown added 19 points.

New Albany 53, Jennings County 43: The Bulldogs (10-6, 5-1 Hoosier Hills Conference) bounced back from a Friday night 50-20 loss at Providence by downing the host Panthers (8-10, 2-4).

A.J. Schmidt led New Albany with 16 points as the Bulldogs stayed close to HHC-leading Jeffersonville (5-0) in the conference race.

Jeffersonville 56, Evansville Harrison 51:Darryl Baker scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the visiting Red Devils (13-2) past the Warriors (12-6). David Scott led Evansville Harrison with a game-high 18 points.

Salem 59, Seymour 48: Taylor Banks scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to ignite a second-half rally as the host Lions (11-5) turned back the Owls (4-11).

Banks converted 9 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter, when Salem enjoyed a 24-14 advantage.

Matt Lucas paced Seymour with 30 points.

Brownstown 75, Paoli 48: Tanner Payton scored a game-high 22 points and Jalen Snodgrass added 20, including four 3-pointers, to lead the host Braves (16-1), No. 9 in Class 3A, to a rout of the Rams (7-8).

Tanner Wroblewski led Paoli with 15 points.

Orleans 69, Edgewood 65, 2 OT: Junior Tommy Mitchell knocked down five of six free-throw attempts in double overtime to push the visiting Bulldogs (11-6) past the Mustangs (4-12). Orleans’ Jarrett Jones finished with a game-high 23 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer that forced the first OT.

Corydon 70, Charlestown 54: Bronson Kessinger scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lift the host Panthers (8-8, 4-3 Mid-Southern). Justin Conrad scored 17 points for the Pirates (8-9, 2-5).

Eastern Pekin 57, Christian Academy 43: R.J. Jackson scored 19 points to lead the host Musketeers (5-11) past the Warriors (9-8). Aaron Hayes led Christian Academy with22 points.

Perry Central 72, South Spencer 45: Derek Thomas and Trent Brown had 14 points apiece and the Commodores (13-3) decked the visiting Rebels (7-10).

Friday night:

South Central 60, Washington Catholic 39: The host Rebels (4-13) used full court pressure to get 27 turnovers and stomp the Cardinals (2-16).

Perry Central 59, West Washington 46: The visiting Commodores (12-3, 4-1 Patoka Lake) forced turnovers on four of West Washington’s first five possessions of the second half to break open a tight game (26-23 at halftime) and sail past the Senators (7-9, 1-3).
