Swimmers take to Corydon Inv.

Finishing with identical point totals, the Corydon Central boys' and the North Harrison girls' swim teams won the respective team titles at the Corydon Central Invitational Saturday at the YMCA of Harrison County.
The Corydon Central boys scored 609 points, while North Harrison tallied 496 and Lanesville had 32.
Panthers sprint specialist Colin Lyell paced his team with two individual wins along with being part of two relay victories. In the 50-yard freestyle, Lyell cruised to a win in 23.42 seconds. He backed up that performance with a win in the 100 freestyle (52.63 seconds).
Spencer Sillings (200 individual medley, 2:22.41) and Cole McKiever (100 backstroke, 1:08.08) also picked up victories in the pool for Corydon Central.
In relays, Corydon Central's boys took the top spot in all three. The opening event, the 200-medley relay, was easily won by Jared Eichmiller, Marcus Jones, Nick Smythe and Sillings in 1:57.93.
Jones and Smythe were joined by McKiever and Lyell to capture the 200-freestyle relay (1:40.69) by better than 10 seconds. Closing the meet out, Jones, McKiever, Sillings and Lyell rolled in the 400-freestyle relay in 3:52.34.
North Harrison's Cezar Camilotti scored two individual wins, taking the 200 freestyle (2:00.13) and the 500 freestyle (5:34.95). Ben Wellner also had two wins for the Cougars: the 100 butterfly (1:02.02) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.95).
Lanesville's top finishes came from Taylor Johnson (second) and Blake West (third) in the 50 freestyle.
In the girls' team rankings, North Harrison placed first with 609 points, followed by Corydon Central (496) and Lanesville (32).
Bailey Seitz won two individual events for the Lady Cats. She won the 50 freestyle in 28.08 seconds and followed with a comfortable win in the 100 backstroke in 11:11.57.
Also placing first for North Harrison were Olivia Davis in the 200 freestyle (2:35.40) and Brittany McCarty in the 500 freestyle (7:11.25).
As a team, North Harrison won two relay events. The Lady Cats started off with a victory in the 200-medley relay (2:16.65) behind efforts from Kelsey Stickler, Alexis Curtis, Davis and Seitz. The second win came with Kendall Frantz, Addie Hampton, Ashley Krininger and Shelby Lindsey in the 200-freestyle relay (2:18.90).
Corydon Central, meanwhile, won the 400-freestyle relay with Emily Wood, Christanna Thomas, Marissa Brann and Alexis Burda posting a time of 4:54.49.
Individually for Corydon Central, Amanda Wells took home two top finishes. She outlasted Lindsey to win the 200-individual medley in 2:59.09 in less than half a second. Wells won the 100 butterfly more comfortably with a time of 1:21.55.
Wood also claimed two events to go with her relay victory. She won the 100 freestyle (59.94) and the 100 breaststroke (1:27.96).
Rachael Peyton represented Lanesville with third-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
The girls' Mid-Southern Conference meet took place last night (Tuesday) at Salem, while the boys' MSC will take place Thursday, Jan. 26, at the YMCA of Harrison County.
