Demon Baseball Team Lands 5 All Conference Players

The Washington Demon Baseball team landed 5 players on the Southeast Iowa Baseball All Conference Teams.  Named to the 1st team were Juniors Kaleb Rich and Nic Simmons and Freshman Jake Redlinger.  Sophomores Josh Moore and Jordan Gier were named to the 2nd team.

1ST TEAM:

Kaleb Rich an infielder led the Demons in batting average, finishing the season with a .391 average. Driving in 21 runs and scoring 18.  He also was a starting pitcher compiling a 2-1 record with an earned run average of 2.70.  He struck out 26 batters in 33 2/3 innings.

Nic Simmons was selected as a first team utility player.  Nic led the Demons with a team low earned run average of 1.81.  He allowed 13 earned runs in 50 2/3 innings.  His record finished at 2-4.

Jake Redlinger was selected as an outfielder.  Redlinger a freshman batted .329, scored 27 runs and drove in 18 RBI's and was walked 20 times.  Jake also had 3 assists from the outfield.

2ND TEAM:

Josh Moore, a 2nd baseman was Washington's lead off man for most of the season. Moore hit .326 and scored 34 runs, his on base percentage was .482.

Jordan Gier, an outfielder hit .362 for the Demons.  Jordan primarily played in left field and only committed two errors in that position.

Anthony Ossman, Soph: .322 batting average, 17 SB, 28 runs, 24 rbi's
Brett Johnson, Sr:. .298 batting average, 21 SB, 28 runs, 25 rbi's
Martin Ponce, Soph: 3-1 record, 1.81 era, 28k's, 27 innings, .269 batting average
Jake McElyea, Jr.: 2-2 record, 4.94 era, 17 innings pitched, 14 k's
Brad Weatherman, Soph: 1-2 record, 2.71 era, .246 batting average
Brian Roder, Soph: .207 batting average
Kyle Blakeney, Sr.: .200 batting aveage
Mike Adrian, Sr.: 1st Baseman, .143 batting average
Alex Pim, Sr.: Courtesy Runner
Jordan Hoffman, Soph: Courtesy Runner, .250 batting average (1-4) 1 Homerun
Colton Covington, Soph: Reserve Infielder, .231 batting average (3-13)
Chris Bartmann, Soph: Reserve Infielder, .333 batting average (2-6) 2 doubles
Travis Coleman, Soph: Reserve Outfielder



Washington finished the season with a record of 15-16 and a conference record of 8-8.  Washington returns 10 letterman for next season.
