Titans defeat Brown County

Published: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 2:18 PM CST CAMP POINT, Ill. -- The West Hancock Titans picked up their first win in pool play Monday at the Lady Panther Classic by defeating Brown County 54-30.

West Hancock allowed just 17 points after the first quarter. The Titans led 30-19 at halftime and expanded the lead to 46-28 at the end of three quarters.

Kelly Dorothy scored 12 points to lead West Hancock. Jessi Heavin and Abby Gibbs each had eight points. Madison Harmon tossed in six points. Allison Dewald tallied five points. Shelby Koehler and Taylor Dorch each scored four points. Jacey Hartweg recorded three points, and Lauren Dorethy and Haleigh Hammel each finished with two points.

Aimee Kerley scored eight points to lead Brown County. Kristen Buss, Riley Jones and Jenna Yingling each scored six points.

West Hancock continues play in the tournament against Unity at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The two teams have split the previous two meetings this season.
